This story from the Sun Sentinel of two girls living with their grandmother in Florida to escape their father’s violence and their mothers harassment illustrates the suffering and displacement experienced by children living in violent homes. Their grandmother, their primary caretaker, takes them to group therapy sessions, which she describes as a godsend. The girls are working through their trauma and learning to live a more normal and happy childhood.
