CNN’s Kelly Wallace discusses the impact domestic violence has on children in the wake of the Ray Rice case. 90% of children in a domestically violent home report knowing about the violence.
Exposure to domestic violence is associated with significant cognitive and behavioral problems in children and in the adults they grow up to become. Kids in these homes are far more likely to get into abusive relationships themselves.
Parents are role models, and boys can get skewed views about masculinity from their violent fathers and girl false notions of femininity from their abused mothers.
