Child Abuse Prevention Month

Last Updated on April 1, 2017 by Cindy Bekesi

Every April, National Child Abuse Prevention Month, we come together to put the spotlight on child abuse, which impacts 1+ million children in the U.S. every year. But what we don’t talk about can still hurt them. It is the major precursors to Child Abuse that can also be major pathways for prevention – and one in particular: Childhood Domestic Violence (CDV).

Here’s a startling fact: “Child abuse is 15 times more likely to occur in families where domestic violence is present”.  Read the 2005 study “The Effects of Domestic Violence on Children” to learn more about how Child Abuse and CDV occur together.

There are many ways for you to partner with us and help bring awareness to CDV and make an impact.
